“The creation of this transport plane was joined by the leading enterprises of the world’s aircraft manufacturing: companies from the United States, Great Britain, France, Germany and many other countries. The An-132D is a unique example in the history of Ukrainian aviation that proves the need to develop the introduction of production cooperation with Western partners. Now this cooperation is being built up with NATO member states, which is in line with the development strategy of our state,” Poroshenko said. The aircraft is designed to carry up to 8t of cargo to a ceiling of 28,000ft.
Antonov financed the project by partnering with two Saudi organizations — King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and Taqnia Aeronautics, which provide the Kingdom with a 50% ownership in the project.
